Wendy E. Bradford - Obituary

endy Ellen Bradford, 65, of Severna Park, MD passed away on Monday, July 20. Born on February 15, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Richard E. Whedbee and Nancy Lang Whedbee Brown. She was the loving wife for 42 years of Doug Bradford. Wendy was loved by all and her warm smile and laugh was one of a kind. As a child she spent most of her time around pools swimming competitively and working as a lifeguard. She played multiple sports in high school and graduated in 1979 from Catonsville High School. She attended the University of Maryland and married Doug soon after college. After a short time in the corporate world Wendy and Doug opened several businesses together. They enjoyed building a family, playing golf, tennis, skiing, spending time at the beach and traveling. Wendy was lovingly nicknamed “Wender Woman” for being a passionately devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. Wendy was an accomplished golfer winning multiple championships around the Baltimore Annapolis corridor. She was named the women’s club champion at Severna Park’s Chartwell Country Club in 2008, 2009, and 2016. She was also a talented tennis player who was known for being a human backboard. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Sean (April), Mitch (Jenna) and Ryan (Jordan)Bradford; her nine grandchildren Connor, Blakely, Lorelei, Rhys, Charlie, Cameron, Mackenzie, Weston and Parker; her two sisters, Jill (Rick) Springer and Dori (Bryant) Krohn; her step sister, Jenny Seitz; her step brothers, Jeff (Mary Beth), Keith (Courtney) and Scott Brown. She was predeceased by her sister, Robin Whedbee Bond; her step sister, Libby Brown; her step brother-in-law, Bruce Seitz; her mother-in-law, Maria Bradford and her father-in-law, Thomas Bradford. Wendy will be missed by all but is at peace after living life to the fullest, even after an early onset dementia diagnosis more than 10 years ago.
