Louise Jeanne Chrissos - Obituary

L

ouise Chrissos, age 94, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024 at The Adler Center for Caring, Aldie, Virginia. Born and educated in New York City, she graduated high school early at age 16, met and married Costas Chrissos, also from New York, and moved to Washington, D.C. They eventually settled in Annapolis, Maryland for the remainder of her life. Louise worked on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Secretary for such notable members of Congress as John F. Kennedy when he was first elected to Congress, and Senator Sam J. Ervin during the Watergate scandal and retired after 35 years. She was an incredible mother who was loved and adored by her children, family, and friends. An avid reader with a curious mind, Louise had a passion for languages, music, dancing, the theater, opera, and playing her piano. She will be deeply missed, but left us all with many wonderful memories. She is survived by her brother, William Arcamuzi of Elizabeth, CO, and her children, Jeanne (Philip) Rosenbaum of Gainesville, VA and Demos (Karen) Chrissos of Hendersonville, NC, and her 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be offered Thursday, April 25 at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD. The church will open at 10:30 a.m. for a brief viewing and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, Maryland 21032.
