William "Pat" Robert Tucker - Obituary

I

t is with great sadness that we announce on Friday, April 26, 2024 our beloved William Robert Tucker, best known as “Pat”, went to be with the Lord and his late wife, Peggy. Pat was born on his family’s farm in Lothian on April 16, 1933 to the late Samuel Earl and Katherine Tucker. He spent his youth on the family farm that was built by his grandfather before attending Southern High School where he met the love of his life, Peggy Ann Wilde. They were married on October 17th, 1953, just 3 days before he was drafted into the Army. Upon returning from his tour in Germany he lived in Shady Side for more than 50 years while working in telecommunications before moving to Annapolis to enjoy his retirement closer to his daughter and grandchildren. Church played a large part in Pat’s life. He dedicated many years to St. James’ Parish in the choir, many Sundays to the pew and even more to church dinners and events. In addition to Church, Pat enjoyed being on the water, being outdoors, travel and ALL sports whether it was a live event or on TV; if a game was on he was watching and cheering. But most of all Pat loved his family. He loved catching up with his brother and sister, his nieces and nephews and the weekly visits from his friends turned family. He thoroughly looked forward to Sunday dinners at his daughter’s where he enjoyed watching sports, eating family favorites and watching his two great-granddaughters play. He held such a large part of his daughter’s heart and her children’s; the smile that he put on those little girl’s faces matched the smile they put on his. He will be missed by his daughter, Debbie (Bill); his grandchildren, Amanda (Jake) and Aaron (Natalie); his great- granddaughters, Brynn and Severine; his siblings, Tommy (Nancy) and Kathleen Poff (the late George) and many nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends. In addition to his wife of nearly 70 years and his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy, Samuel Earl (Jeannine), Carol Mae Dascaloff (Stanley), Peggy Miller (William), and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 11am at St. James’ Parish, 5757 Solomons Island Rd., Lothian, MD.
