Michael (Mike) Stephen Nagy passed away on June 10, 2019 after a brief but courageous fight against cancer. His final weeks were spent surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mike was a devoted, loving, and hardworking family man. A well-respected land use/ zoning and real estate attorney and a long-time registered landscape architect/land planner in the region, Mike was a 30-year resident of Annapolis and maintained strong ties to his Winchester-on-the-Severn community. Mr. Nagy attended law school at University of Baltimore, where he graduated Cum Laude. He received his MA in Urban Planning from the University of Maryland and his bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Pennsylvania State University. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Meg) and his three children Marget, Julia, and Nicholas, along with his mother, Margaret Darago Nagy of Annapolis, MD.

His family will host a Celebration of Life for Mike on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the Annapolis Maritime Museum, 723 2nd St, Annapolis, MD 21403 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that if you would like to make a donation, please consider the following two causes close to Mike's heart.

A continued education fund for the Nagy children has been set up at Essex Bank 1835 West Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Please call 443-569-7515 and donate to the NAGY CHILDREN'S EDUCATION FUND.

Mike was planning to ride 375 miles with team SustainaFest in the 2019 Climate Ride New England bike race in September 2019. His team will go on to ride in his honor. Donation link here: https://support.climateride.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=6719

Mike- I will always remember and miss you! It is a gut wrenching painful sadness to realize and accept the reality... I have so many wonderful memories of Mike, Meg, and the 3 children...what a lovely family. Mike was such a high quality man who I deeply respected and embraced his friendship. His beautiful energy and positive outlook on life...
As a Winchester neighbor, we shared so many fun moments together... watching the children when they were very young as Meg ran errands...the parties and dinners at our respective homes....special moments at the beach....years of running with Mike to the Severn River and back talking about things that mattered. Your children are beautiful! Meg- You were always such a sweetheart, and so much fun. I look forward to attending the celebration on the 30th... XO

Mr. Nagy as I always knew him growing up just down the street was always uplifting, and had great positive energy. One of my memories as a "young adult" was when I was babysitting Marget, Jules and Nick and I fell asleep on the couch before Mike and Meg got home. I fell asleep so hard that they had a hard time even waking me up! Mike had to carry me to the car and drive me home! Fast forward 20 years later, I consider Marget one of my nearest and dearest friends and just know Mike, you raised amazing kids and had an impact on those around you. You will be missed by everyone who's path crossed yours. May you rest in peace.
