Obituary

Mary Frances (Fran) Fridrich passed away on April 26, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. Born June 16, 1955 in Washington, DC, she was 64 years old.

She attended St Mary's school in Annapolis. As a young teen she was a member of the Pony Club in St Margarets. She loved all animals, especially horses and ponies. She kept a stable and took much pleasure in her “Giddy Up Pony Rides” for children. She also kept chickens, goats and her beloved dogs and cats. Along with her parents she grew a large garden. She was also a caregiver for the elderly.

She leaves behind her sister Suzanne Fridrich, brothers Thomas (Molly), Edmund, nephews Noah and Samson, and niece Sarah Lippert.

Her parents Ed and Frances Fridrich preceded her in death in 1989 and 2009.

A private service will be held due to the coronavirus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:

Many, many years ago, Mary’s brother, Tom mentioned that his sister gave pony rides. I kept that info squirreled away until a friends granddaughter had her first birthday. We hired Mary and the sweet pony with sparkly hooves and ribbon in it’s hair. The older kids were enthralled. Mary took them for a pony ride around the backyard, showed them how to brush the pony and feed it carrots. Since it was all a surprise to the grandmother, we adults high five the grand caper. Occasionally we reminisce about Mary and the that sweet pony, it’s been 18 or so years since but we have wonderful memories. I’m sure you all have many more. I’m so sorry for your loss.
