Kay Marlene Mylod “Oma” passed away July 6, 2020 one week shy of celebrating her 86th birthday.

Kay lived and worked around the world, from her humble and much loved beginnings in Lyons & Little River, Kansas; to Karachi, Pakistan; Jakarta, Indonesia; Levittown, NY; much loved California towns of Costa Mesa,
Huntington Beach and Goleta before moving to Anne Arundel County, Maryland in 2009.

Kay’s career spanned working for General Motors in Pakistan, the U.S. Embassy in Indonesia and culminated with her retirement from University of California, Irvine after 22 years of service as the Chemistry Department Administrative Assistant.

Kay’s passions included classic movies, books, and keeping up with current events. Kay was never to be seen without wearing her iconic red lipstick. She cherished her time with her grandchildren, especially when the visits included a trip to IHOP to indulge in her favorite 4 stack of blueberry pancakes.

Kay is survived by her son Pat and daughter-in-law Elaine, grandchildren Erika (Brian), Megan, Morgan, Justin & Christopher and brother Steve (Judy). Kay is predeceased by her former spouse Norman, daughter Michele, granddaughter Stephanie and brother Randy.

Kay’s family is grateful for the kindness and love from Dr. Bonnie Mitchell, Jessie and staff, Dr. Sykora and staff at Kaiser-Annapolis and Kris-Leigh Davidsonville staff for their dedication and never-ending patience in care giving.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue at or MeoowzResQ Kitten and Cat Rescue at
