Obituary for Jennifer Lea Woodfield

Jennifer Lea Woodfield (nee Pingley), 49, passed away early morning on July 25, 2019 after a year-long battle with metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Mrs. Woodfield was a tireless researcher, gardener, and loved entertaining at home. Prior to her illness, she was a photography archivist for the Seattle Municipal Archives, where she would constantly share beautiful historic photos that regularly crossed her desk with family and friends. With her husband, she was an avid traveler, concert/festival goer, and an accomplished DIY home renovator.

Mrs. Woodfield met and married her husband, Chris Woodfield, in 1994 in Baltimore, who survives her; they married in 1996 and were inseparable to the end. During their time together, the couple lived in Baltimore, the Washington, DC metro area, Atlanta, San Francisco, and currently Seattle.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Woodfield is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Sorianosos of Accokeek, MD, Sandra Yancheski of Baltimore, MD, and her brother, Emery Pingley Jr., also of Baltimore; In addition, she is survived by three nephews, Christopher Filling, Corey Filling, and Joshua Pingley. She was predeceased by her parents, Emery Pingley Sr., and Kathleen Pingley, and a sister, Patricia who was stillborn.

Also surviving Mrs. Woodfield is the family cat, Francesca, who will always be the bestest kitty.

Mrs. Woodfield’s ashes will be interred at the Woodfield Cemetery in Galesville, MD in a private ceremony. A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, September 2, 2019, at the Blue Heron Room at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD from 5-9pm.
