Barbara M. Carr, 91, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at her home in Davidsonville, MD, where she has lived and worked for 70 years. A lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County, Barbara married George C. “Johnny” Carr in 1948 and they built a beautiful life together on their family farm. They ran a school bus company for 40 plus years, serving multiple generations of county school children. She drove bus #73 and in 1980 became the president of Carr’s Buses, Inc. She worked hard all her life, both on the farm and with the buses. She also served her community by participating in many organizations. She was a member of the Riva Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Davidsonville Ruritan Club, the Altar Guild at All Hallows Church in Davidsonville and the Altar Guild at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Crownsville. She served as a volunteer for many, many community needs. She baked many cakes and meals for various charitable causes. Family and community always came first. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny in 2007. She is survived by her children, George C. “Chip” (Joan) Carr, Jr. and Barbara A. (Marty) Moran both of Davidsonville, Charles W. (Patti) Carr of Edgewater and Martin W. (Roxanne) Carr of Annapolis and many loving grandchildren. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She was a warm and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all. Because of Covid-19, there will be no visitation at this time. Funeral service will be private.
