Life Legacy

Wilbur Ray Miller, 86, died on February 13 at his home in Lothian.

Born March 27, 1926 in McLean, VA, to the late Mary Margaret and Samuel Perry Miller, he retired from the U.S. Navy in 1964, then from the Central Suplly Unit at Prince George's Hospital Center in 1964. Wilbur was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and an active member of the 1st Christian Church at Brock Hall. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons and great-grandsons and enjoyed watching the Washington Capitals and NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwynelle L. Cochran; a son, Michael R. Miller; and three sisters.

Wilbur is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Timothy) Rourke; three grandsons, Shaun (Angela), Scott and Steven Rourke; two great-grandsons, Ethan and Nolan. Also survived by five brothers, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to Wilbur's Life Celebration from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, on Friday, February 22, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A funeral service will be held at 10am, Saturday, February 23 at First Christian Church at Brock Hall, 2400 Old Largo Road. Upper Marlboro. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
