Herbert H. Derian

| Herbert “Herb” Haigezoun Derian, age 82, a 38 year resident of Annapolis and previously of Northampton, MA died on Sunday August 5, 2012 at his home. Born on November 5, 1929 in Northampton, Herb graduated in 1956 from the University of Massachusetts with a B.S. Degree in Mathematics and served in the U.S. Army until he was honorably discharged in 1960. During his career, Herb worked at Pratt & Whittney Aircraft, Univac, Informatics and was CEO of both American Preschool and Cintronics, Inc. A member of the Annapolis Yacht Club since 1978, he enjoyed sailing, gardening, skiing, travelling, scuba diving and dogs, especially golden retrievers. Herb is survived by his wife, Lorelei F. Derian, who he married in 1958; two daughters, Lianne D. Caruso of Edgewater and Siri D. Lombardi of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a brother, William Derian of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Nancy Craig and Dawn Baker of Northampton, MA; a grandson, Nicholas A. Cintron of Edgewater; three granddaughters, Eva A., Jessica C. and Diana C. Caruso all of Edgewater. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 13 at 11:00am at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Church Circle, Annapolis, MD. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 MD Rt. 3 North, Gambrills, MD 21054. |
