“They that love beyond the world cannot be separated from it. Death cannot kill what never dies." William Penn
On July 12th, 2012 at sunrise, our heavenly Father chose to walk one of his ‘earthly angels’ home. Joe (Joe Bear), Joseph Benton Kirby, III, gently and peacefully took the hand of his big sister, Linda Jo, and together they walked through the gates of paradise to eternal peace and joy.

BECAUSE YOU LOVED ME
For all those times you stood by me, for all the truth you made me see,
For all the joy you brought to my life, for all the wrong that you made right,
For every dream you made come true, for all the love I found in you,
I’m everything I am, BECAUSE YOU LOVED ME!
I had your love I had it all. I'm grateful for each day you gave me!
Maybe I don't know much, but I know this much is true,
I AM BLESSED BECAUSE I AM LOVED BY YOU!!
Pastor Christopher Michael Ogne (“Big Daddy’s” Son-in-Law) will lead the Celebration, at Joe’s most favorite time of year—the birth and celebration of Jesus Christ, our risen Lord and Savior!
Friends are asked to contribute any special moments, songs, good times, and/or mementos, shared with Joe. Please contact his wife Buffy at 301-292-0294. We would love to include these in his Celebration!
We are asking that in lieu of flowers (the Sanctuary will be filled with Christmas poinsettias as it was on this special occasion 33 years ago), donations be made to:
• The Lutheran Church of Our Savior Building Fund, 7365 Indian Head Highway, Bryans Road, Maryland 20616 (Joe was most excited about seeing and singing in the new Sanctuary when dedicated.)
• The Northern Virginia Sheltie Rescue, 977 Seminole Trail, PMB 314, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901 or at nvsr.org (Joe was dedicated to his Shelties and cherished their company all his life--both before and while he was ill).
By love, they are remembered and in memory they live!
Friends and family are invited to a portrait of Joe's life on Sunday, December 23 at 2:30 pm directly preceding his Celebration Service beginning at 3:30 pm. Reception immediately following in the Church hall.
