Anna Panos Rosario

March 7, 1916 - April 20, 2012

Anna Panos Rosario, 96, of the Annapolis and Bowie areas, died April 20.
Born March 7, 1916 in New York City to the late Constantine Panos and the late Helen Helbig, Anna graduated high school and business school in New York City. Anna retired from Prince George's Health Department.
She was a great ballroom dancer in her time, and traveled the world using Greek as her first language. Anna is a member of the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Annapolis, and enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing and making ceramics.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rosario, whom she married in 1952.
She is survived by two daughters, Katherine Flood of Annapolis and JoAnne Powell of Bowie; one brother, Thomas Panos of East Brunswick, NJ; two sisters, Mary Mongelli of Woodstock, NY and Betty Rubin of Manhattan, NYC; two grandsons, Craig Smith of Mechanicsville, VA and Kevin Smith of Annapolis; five granddaughters, Sherry Smith of Bowie, Kimberly Goudey of Atlanta, GA, Melanie Forranti of Edgewater, Anne Flood of Hartford, CT and Jean Flood of Hartford, CT; 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends are invited to Anna's Life Celebration from 12:30 p.m. until a funeral service starts at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, April 23, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to the Alzheimer's Association , PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
