While almost all funeral homes offer cremation services, the George P. Kalas Funeral Home is unique in offering this service at our own crematory.  Located in our Edgewater facility, we are the only funeral home in the Annapolis area that offers an on-site crematory.  This gives our clients the extra assurance that their loved ones are always under our constant care and attention.  Our onsite crematory also saves our clients the fee other funeral homes charge for transporting to an offsite crematory.  Families also have the option of witnessing the cremation - an especially important tradition in certain faiths – at no additional cost.

Like traditional funerals, services involving a cremation can be tailored to your specific preferences.  For example, you may choose one of the following options:

-          A direct cremation without any public event

-          A cremation following a traditional visitation in our funeral home

-          A cremation before or following a memorial service in our chapel, your place of worship or another site of your choosing

The only limitations are the ones you put in place.  We will work with you to design a remembrance as distinctive as your loved one.
