Shelton's Life Celebration on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 901 3rd St., NW, Washington, DC 20001.  Maj. Shelton's Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date. Please check back for updated information.

Bonnie Smith, 77, of Annapolis, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27th.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Al Smith. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Dawn (Dave) and Kristen (Christopher); her cherished grandchildren, Samuel and Colette; and her partner of four years, Bill Morris.

A registered nurse for more than fifty years, Bonnie was known for her compassion, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to helping others. Her passion for helping others was a source of strength and comfort to all who knew her.

Bonnie’s adventurous spirit led her to explore nearly every continent, enjoying different cultures and creating lasting memories. At home in Annapolis, she was a pillar of the community, lending her time, insight, and leadership to numerous committees and initiatives. Whether on the pickleball court, the golf course, or simply enjoying the company of friends, Bonnie brought energy, laughter, and kindness wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

A memorial gathering will be held at Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, on Wednesday, October 1st from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life from 5:00 to 5:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Nursing Foundation of Maryland (The Nursing Foundation of Maryland) in Bonnie’s honor.

Jeremiah Mibale was born on May 31, 1957 in Majayjay, Philippines and passed away peacefully in Virginia, USA, on September 25, 2025. He was surrounded by his siblings, children, nieces and nephews, and “granddaughter,” Bonnie Joy.

Charles Calvin Fate, 87, a 52-year resident of Davidsonville, MD, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, in Crofton, MD, surrounded by his family. 
Charles was born on November 16, 1937, in Salisbury, PA, to the late Harry and Ruth Fate. In the 1960’s he worked for John Dufife Builders and Carl Freeman Construction. He later started his own construction business named GMP Corporation (these initials stood for his children’s names), where he retired from.
He was the former President of the Lions Club. A lifelong Redskin fan, he also enjoyed hunting with his sons and close friends at their Ratland property in Cumberland, MD. In addition to this, he enjoyed many other travel adventures ,such as hunting in the Midwest, New England, and Canada. He also loved traveling the world on various cruises with his wife and close friends. Charles loved to play poker and would win the pot every time! 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of seven years, Dixie Lee Hutzell Fate, his wife of 44 years, Peggy Jean Lipford Fate, and his siblings, James Fate and Evelyn Whitmore Stevens.
He is survived by his children, Gregory Charles Fate (Karen) of Lothian, MD, Matthew Ross Fate (Tricia) of Odenton, MD, and Peggy Jean Fate-Stark (Robert) of Denton, MD. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan Fate (Kelsey), Logan Fate, Kayla Fate Collins (Britt), Ali, Emma, and Riley Belote, and two great-grandchildren (Adley and Drake Collins).   
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Charles' life on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037, from 10 am until his funeral service begins at 11 am. Interment to follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a local Hospice organization of your choice in his name.

Patricia L. Clarke ”Tricia”, 66, a 32-year resident of Crofton, MD, and previously of Greenbelt, MD, passed away on Monday September 22, 2025, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Tricia was born on October 21, 1958, in Cheverly, MD, to the late Peter and June Fineran. She went to St. Ambrose School and was a graduate of Elizabeth Seton High School. She retired from the Merchants Terminal Corporation.

Tricia’s interests included classic TV, watching the Washington Commanders, and she loved playing the slots.

In addition to her parents, Tricia was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Norman Clarke.

She is survived by her son, Michael Clarke of Crofton, MD, and her sisters, Laurie Green of Raleigh, NC, Barbara Jarman of Muskegon, MI, and Peggy Shaffer of Greenbelt, MD.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tricia's life on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11 am until 1 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment private.

Ralph T. Prado, Jr., 80, a 21-year resident of Stevensville, Maryland, passed away after a five-year battle with kidney failure. Born on February 18, 1945, in New York, NY, to Violet (Rodriguez) Prado and the late Ralph T. Prado, Sr., Ralph graduated high school before establishing a 50-year career with Krick Plumbing and Heating. He was a parishioner at St. Christopher Catholic Church and a member of the Elks Lodge of Kent Island. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing softball, golfing, and spending time with friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Karen L. Prado; his daughter, Yvette Gam; his son, Frank Prado, and his wife, Desireé Prado; his daughter, Kasey Lewis, and her husband, Rian Lewis; his grandsons, Bill Gam, Frank Prado, Jr., and Nolan Lewis; his granddaughters, Brianna Heiser, and her husband, Kyle Heiser, and Mackenzie Lewis; and his great-grandchild, Sophia Gam.

Amor Galeng, age 70, passed away on the morning of September 22, 2025, in Fort Washington, MD surrounded by his family.  

Amor was born on March 14, 1955 in San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines, to Margarita Ramos and Nicholas Galeng Sr. Amor is survived by his wife Lolita; children: Christine, Arvie (Chris) and Anne Marie; step children: Jefferson (Roxanne) and Steven; grandchildren: Maleah, Riley, Ella, Jeannie, and Gabriel; and siblings: Alexander (Merlinda), Julio (Ann), Nicholas (Malu), Emmanuel (Ghuy), Nilda and Orland (Angie). He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Sr. and Margarita, and his sister, Teresa. 

Amor graduated from Zambales Academy in the Philippines in 1971 and later moved to the United States in 1984. He worked as a butcher (Manager) at Andrews Air Force Base Commissary for many years before retiring in May 2021. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking for his family. He was known for being the videographer of the family, his amazing cooking (especially his roast beef), and his aquarium filled with colorful fish. He loved attending family events, video calling his family members in the Philippines, singing karaoke, watching action movies, and tinkering with electronics and appliances.


His memory will live on the hearts of those who knew and loved him.


A celebration of life for Amor is currently being planned. 

On Thursday September 18, 2025, the beloved son of Feliciana A. Ramos; sister of Marissa (Weng) Ramos, Jeffrey Jose (Zeny) Ramos,  and Jesus (Emily) Empaynado; uncle of Grean and Abigail Ramos and Oiver Empaybado, has joined our Creator.

Wayne Steven Crisman, 86, of Annapolis, MD sadly passed away on the morning of September 18, 2025. Born on January 12, 1939 in Gary, Indiana to the late Lloyd Earl Crisman and Anne (Demchak) Crisman, Wayne graduated high school before attending Franklin College in Indiana, in the hopes of becoming a teacher. That dream came true. He taught for the public school system in Gary, Indiana and later worked for a private Christian school in Clearwater, Florida.  Being a teacher meant the world to Wayne and he continued to teach until his retirement. Many new and exciting adventures would follow.
Wayne had many hobbies and interests, but loved nature. He enjoyed going on many long walks with family, friends, and his beloved dogs. He was an avid tennis player when he was younger, and also enjoyed riding motorcycles and driving his Fiat convertible. He had a passion for baseball, especially his beloved San Francisco Giants. If he couldn’t attend a game, he preferred to listen to it on the radio rather than watch it on TV. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. 
Wayne had a tremendous faith in God and never gave up an opportunity to pass that faith on to everyone he knew or anyone he was around. Towards the end he was still thanking God.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his younger brother, Kenneth R. Crisman. He is survived by his nephew, Kenneth Scott Crisman (Kim); his niece, Lisa C. Thrift (Kevin); many great nieces and nephews; his cousins, Mary Lois and Barbara; and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
